In 2024, we began a new chapter.
As a husband and wife team, we brought together our two worlds. Architecture and wellness to create FOLDE+SONDER.
A studio shaped by design and a shared belief that spaces should make you feel something. The Studio, unique in form and feeling was hand built by us. Yes really. It turns out that couple bonding looks a lot like sawdust, long days, and very strong opinions about material finishes!

Years spent working with leading spas shaped my understanding of what makes a treatment truly meaningful. Not just the experience itself, but the setting, the pace, and the feeling it leaves behind..
This led me to create a space of my own. One that sits outside the high street. Rooted in nature.
In 2023, alongside my partner Jared, an architect, we began construction of the Studio in January 2024 at a farm workshop near Lewes, designing and building every element.
By July 2024, the Studio was complete and we launched our first residency in Sussex, welcoming our first clients into the Studio.

Designing with a client who knows their brief, and has a clear picture of what must be achieved makes for a simple process…Being married to them helps, but the quality of a design relies on the energy to see it through.
Working alongside Liv brings a unique dynamic to the design process. We have a shared understanding of each other’s vision, which infuses the project with a special energy. It’s not just about the concept on paper; it’s about translating that vision into reality, and pushing through any challenges that arise along the way.
The reward? Seeing an idea evolve into something real, meaningful, and enjoyed by those who experience it.

From the moment I arrived at The Sussex Shala, I knew. This was it.
The Studio sits high among the rolling South Downs, with wide open views, the Long Man of Wilmington keeping quiet watch, hedgerows alive with birdsong, and the occasional sheep wandering past. It’s calm, uplifting, and a little bit magical.
The Sussex Shala olive yurt is home to a community of local yoga teachers and practitioners, hosting classes and retreats where collaboration with FOLDE + SONDER feels natural.
