Designed. From the ground up.
In 2024, the Studio became more than a few scribbles and a vision. We designed and built it by hand, considering every detail along the way.
The brief was simple, but not easy: create a calm, functional treatment space within the very real constraints of being small and, yes, on wheels. Every decision – layout, light, materials – shaped by how the space would feel as much as how it would work.
Below is the story of how it all came together. From our home at The Sussex Shala, to our summer 2024 launch at a beautiful vineyard, and the build itself.
Our home at The Sussex Shala
Since settling into our elevated spot overlooking the South Downs early 2025, we soaked up a glorious spring, summer, and autumn, welcoming new faces to the Studio and sharing FOLDE+SONDER treatments with both the local community and visitors to The Sussex Shala.
I’m so excited to open the doors again in March 2026, welcoming back familiar faces and meeting plenty of new ones too.
Launching amongst the vines
Launching at Ashling Park Estate vineyard in summer 2024 was a pinch-me moment. After months of building the Studio and refining treatments, opening the doors came with a mix of excitement and nerves.
That summer, set between the vines, felt just right, and clients loved the experience. Five star testimonials only strengthened our belief in the vision When harvest arrived in October, we hitched up and moved on to our current home at The Sussex Shala.
